Royal Crystal Works of Saint-Louis-lès-Bitche

The Royal Glassworks of St. Louis is the oldest glassworks in France.
Organised around the remains of an old furnace, the great hall presents 1500 historical works fashioned at the 400-year old royal manufactory.
Coloured crystal, size and gilding have pride of place here. The tour takes you ever upwards along the collections, with a step out onto the walkways overlooking the production area.

Clog-makers’ museum

In Soucht, the clog-makers’ village of the Bitche area right in the heart of the Northern Vosges Regional Natural Park, you can discover all aspects of the manual and mechanical manufacturing of clogs.
Different activities are offered in a High Environmental Quality building constructed entirely from wood: manual and mechanical demonstrations, collections on display, movies and slideshows, games, etc.

Bitche Golf Course

Created in 1988 , this superb 27-hole course laid out by the Adam and Fromanger architectural practice is among the finest golf courses in eastern France.
Located on Grand Kindelberg hill opposite the Citadel, the course covers 70 hectares on the outskirts of the town, in a forested area.
Mentioned in many guide books, included in the Peugeot guide, for its overall course quality, it rests entirely on Vosges sandstone, making it usable throughout the year.

Thebog path of Hanau pond

The Bitche area has a dozen or so bog ponds, most of which are protected because of the exceptional flora they harbour.
A one-kilometre long path lined with information boards was laid out in the heart of the bog to help people understand the slow evolution of peat lands and their multiple attractions. The trail wends through the forest and walkers will come to know the main local trees.
